A Sagovan Tale

Another retelling of an old story i wrote awhile back. I'd love to someday write and direct this on some gorgeous island in Fiji with a bunch of sea turtles. Excuse the format, this is copy and pasted from a conversation with a friend on facebook.
Well it takes place in a mythological world, On a secluded island in the south pacific. maybe 5 miles around. Takes place long long ago, possibly during the egyptian periods. There is this tribe that lives on the island, about 50-60 people. Everyone has a specific job that they must do, and they must train their kids to do that job aswell. The island's main food source is turtles, green sea turtles to be exact. They come onto the island to nest then they depart for the sea. The weird thing about this tribe. Is that they never touch the sea, they fear it. They believe it brings harm and badluck and death. They send their dead off into the sea.

Here is where we meet our main character. He is the son of a turtle hunter, which means he must become a turtle hunter. but he can't kill a turtle, he finds them too adorable. His father is continiously dissapointed in him, along with the rest of the tribe. So one day our main character named Sayun, decides he's going to do some turtle hunting on his own, because he believes that maybe he can;t kill a turtle because there's so much pressure on him. But on this particular day, he follows a turtle until he reaches the sea, knowing the dangers of the sea and the rules of his tribe, he's hesitant to follow. But on that day, he sees a silhouette of something far off in the sunset. Curious, he goes into the ocean and walks towards the island, but he gets to the point where he can't walk anymore and he struggles to keep himself up. So he goes back to shore... But he thinks that maybe he can reach the island if he tries.

And here is where the bulk of the story comes in, ill brief it though. Sayun practices swimming and catches on, but he cant see the island any longer. meanwhile, a young girl in the tribe gets curious about his doings, but Sayun hides himself well because no one expects him to be out at sea. His father continues to grow concerned about Sayun's lack of hunting skills aswell, and his absents and his new interest in the ocean. But after awhile the girl catches him in the act and brings it up at a tribe meeting and Sayun gets in trouble and gets punished. Frustrated with the girl and the tribe, he swears to leave the island. but he can't see the other island anymore, so he believes he might have just been seeing things. So he gives up and accepts the society, until the turtles start to stop going to the island and a famine sets in. people start dieing, and Sayun feels incredibly responsible for this because he wasn't a very good hunter, so one day, he goes to the beach, and sees the island again! He rushes back to the tribe and informs them of it, and they also see it!

They trust that he can make it to the island, so they accept that he should go and see what's over there before it dissapears. So he heads over there, but a giant storm approaches and Sayun gets caught in itHe struggles and eventually makes it within meters of the other island, but the storm takes his life. It ends with the tribe perishing, and the final shot will be of James Cook entering the island a thousand years later and finding a strange structure that Sayun made of the turtles and the sea... Sayun explored the world for his tribe and they never knew it...

That's that.

Moving to Vancouver

copy and pasted out of a conversation with a good friend of mine. This is my moving to vancouver tale, 5 months belated.

So i worked a summer back in alberta doing road construction. Dreadful stuff. But it got me enough money to pay off a lot of bills, get a car, a nice camera, and enough money to move back out here. So near the end of october is when i decided to go, And i was gonna get laid off because it was seasonal work, and then i could get ei and live for free! My foreman told me i could get off on the 15th of october.. But then I got sent to an asphalt crew, and I had to work until mid november. FUCK THAT SHIT. Luckily my old foreman vouched for me and I got off on the 16th.

First, I went to a road trip to saskatoon to visit my dad and hang out.I chilled there for a bit, it was fun. Went and seen Coheed and Cambria live. Which was a really awesome show. Went with a really good old friend too. But I had like 4 beers, and had to drive 2 and a half hours after the show to Regina to stay with my buddy for a few days. I was extremely sleepy, and I ended up swerving around on the road.. I ended up getting pulled over by the cops, but I explained my situation and they let me off with a warning. I stayed in Regina for 3 days, seen this Kim girl who was my text buddy for like 3 years.. she was my advice giver for a long time. but this was our first meeting since she was like 12, it was kinda hilarious. but it was a good time. I left regina to edmonton pretty late, and decided to drive all the way there in one show, and it was snowing hardcore, the first snow, My car has like shitty all season tires. So it was super sketch.
Inbetween battleford and lethbridge it was the worst. I was passing a semi at one point and i got in the other lane and starting swerving back and forth. i slid onto the shoulder and did a pretty impressive manuever to get back in formation. The rest of the drive to edmonton was pristine and gorgeous.

The next day me and my buddy Greg headed off to Vancouver. Now Greg, he's a hilarious guy to hang out with. He's down with anything. But after a long ass car ride with him, I sort of hate him... He's kinda arrogant, spoiled, always fuckin sick, and he can be a terrible person. He told me that if he got his girlfriend knocked up he was going to run to Vancouver and live with me. To which I responded "There is nothing lower in this society then that. " That was followed by an hour of uncomfortable silence. But we had fun times, we mooned truckers. Drove at like 170km outside of calgary. He was taking pictures of the mountains while driving, which scared the hell out of me. I warned him that everything i own is with me in this car, and he smartened up. We stopped in lake louise, it was pristine and gorgeous. Then stopped in sicamouse for gas and the punk ass kid took my id while i was there. We ended up in penticton to stay at gregs friends house when i realized, So we had to backtrack 3 hours to get it. Then we drove through kamloops, realized it was a lame ass city. And Kelowna is far more awwesome.

Then we arrived here And stayed at my friend dannys place. We extremely over stayed our welcome though. It was a small place and I was looking for a place to live, and settled on my cureent address. But for the last 2 days of october I had to stay in a Hostel. Which was actually a really fun experience, went to a canucks game. Chilled with australians. Drank 4 nights in a row then was too exhausted to party on halloween. Instead watched all the drunken action from my hostel window. Then I moved into this house... Hung out, was a lazy basterd. Got my car towed on the third day, 90$ to get it out. That's my moving back to vancouver story. Like it?

Chasing numbers

I've had this on my msn status for awhile. This is the number of trains i've done in the last 2 years. time to solidify these numbers on the internet!

2009-14/11/13/22/5/2/5/10/2/1/0/0=85

January up until may I was going nonstop to the freight yard. When i got off work i'd head out there and pull off some stuff. My numbers dropped dramatically when i moved to Vancouver. During the winter in van I didn't even paint due to money issues. I painted some walls, that's aboot it. My numbers rose to 10 during the summer because I came back to Alberta for awhile and teared shit up.

2010-6/3/4/1/7/4/9/11/10/13/0/4=72

During the summer I went as often as I could. But my numbers were still rather low. I'd blame it on the fact that I worked such long days, and i was exhausted after every shift. My last couple months in Vancouver at the beginning of the year had some consistency. Tried to make it tot he yard once a week.

2011-0/

Off to a rocky start. I've been doing more street stuff lately because of the weather and the fact that the nearest trains are in New West.. and that's a half an hour drive. I don't think this year will feature very many Enver Trains. I'll probably get more into bombing and walls this year around. I have however, completed 3 canvas's and numerous stickers and other art projects this year already. so I wouldn't say I'm falling off.

Lake Vostok(part 1)

This script story is pretty outrageous, but apparently it's original, and I've sparked some interest to finally put it on paper.

So, Lake Vostok is a massive lake under the ice in Antarctica. It's the most pristine lake on the planet and humans have yet to touch it's waters. Right now some scientists are digging to see what's down there. hopefully i finish this short story/possible screenplay before they explore the waters. So here is a synopsis for a possible script involving this.

We start on a team of Archaeologists/anthropologists or whoever the hell would work on a project like this(I haven't done much homework, fuck off.). 4-5 at most, the leader is some old guru baster who reads a lot of historical books and has researched in almost every country on the globe, probably nominated for a nobel prize in his field and he's probably being privately funded to do this, lets name him Sanders, because nameless characters are forgettable. He probably has a romantic interest on this voyage who is also a photographer(Darrington?), and a trusty sidekick(Rettski?) who has worked for him for years, and possibly knows his obsession with discovery. He also has some extremely smart fresh out of an ivy league school kid(Warmen?) who looks upto him as if he were a god, and finally a financer(Purseau) who wants to know what's under that ice.

So we got our characters, now our story. Sanders, Rettski and Darrington are working in the rift valley when they find something truely extrordinary and groundbreaking after an earthquake causes a massive sinkhole to form where our team find an ancient city of uknown origin where he sees clues of a connection from this city to another city in an uknown land near a lake that was abandoned due to a winter that lasted a millenia years. There would also be some awesome indiana Jones style exploration in this part. Sanders then asks his financer, Purseau to get him to Lake Vostok to join a team of scientists to discover the lake. Purseau lets in, knowing that Sanders will pull something out of that lake and make Purseau's rep go up even more for aiding his journeys. Sanders team joins the lake Vostok scientists, which is 3 people, Warmen, Galvington, a scientist from germany who has weapons training and will be operating the mini submarine that they will drive to explore the lake, and Favrez, a Mexican scientist who is responsible at the surface and for the satellite imaging.

During a lunch all of our characters get to know each other, Sanders is still investigating pictures from the last site, he's deeply entranced by all of the mystery surrounding the area. pictures that feature a city built above the waters in the middle of nowhere protected by the gods(Easter Islands lol) and an actual god that wore a crown that looked similar to the Stonehenge. And something that looks similar to Atlantis. Darrington and Rettski grow concerned, but they are just as excited to learn of the mystery of the lake, Warmen is sort of comic relief and constantly annoys Sanders.

so the next day, they reach the lake, it glows bright blue, truely gorgeous. They first send a computer operated submarine below the surface of the lake and explore, but something spooky stalks the submarine and destroys it. Sanders convinces everyone to take the mini sub under the water to explore the lake for their own eyes. Once below they see all sorts of incredibly and unthinkable wildlife and fish, alien like creatures. The scientists compare them to fish and so and so. but they eventually end up finding a strange dock and then, HOLY FUCKING SHIT! A city under the ice! A massive metropolis, built by an unknown culture. The city itself is a giant museum, filled with luxury and all sorts of amazing artifacts of massive size that might suggest that this city was built by a god... Sanders is incredibly interested in this city, they stay the entire day and the crew try and convince him to come back with him for some rest and to alert the media. Sanders insists he can go without food, Rettski is worried, Warmen is excited and says he will stay behind aswell. Rettski tells the crew to get a doctor and supplies for them tommorow and he stays. The 3 of them make camp in the middle of the metropolis. Sanders hypothesizes that the city used to be a port before the climate drastically changed and froze the lake over, but the city is completed as one entire building. They haven't found any living quarters, just monuments and massive artistic structures.

That night, Sanders can't sleep, so he ventures off on his own and meets a very strange human down there! who speaks... holy shit... ENGLISH! Very broken english, but the person is incredibly smart, and incredibly old. He is the Currator. He explains that this used to be the palace of the god, the god being Qesta, the leader of a long forgotten society that existed after the dino's went extinct, they were a race of human beings that differed in bone structure from other humans, their bones decayed shortly after death along with their skin, so no fossils were ever found. The Currator then tells them of how the society was newly created, Qesta himself created the entire race, he was created by a higher power after the meteor hit to recreate society. Qesta started building. He first created the city they were in Vostok, as his own personal palace and ruling kingdom. He then created a city out of easter islands. He built it on top of the water because of the fierce predators in the waters below, it would serve as the center of the world. It was built entirely above the water, with several hundred towers with the heads on top built as soldiers. He then went to the bermuda triangle and built his second city, Atlantis. The meteor hit the caribean sea, and the impact of the meteor had a magical effect on the area of the bermuda triangle and caused the island to be incredibly fertile while the rest of the earth laid to waste, confused, it turned out to be a lot more prosperous city then the easter islands due to the farming. He then went to the rift valley, and then to new zealand to create cities, non of which were as good as easter island or Atlantis. But once the ice age came Qesta's human beings died, he tried to save them by giving up the last of his powers to protect his palace and enclose it from the elements. Unfortunately he made his followers too far apart, and they all couldn't interact with each other or have a way to get to his palace in time. His culture died. so he wandered the world depressed that his culture had died and his powers were gone to waste to protect his palace. So he buried himself, his crown can still be seen, it is the Stonehenge :P. Atlantis ended up living on until it's own random magical powers faded and it eroded into the sea. And as it turns out, The Currator was the only resident of the palace, he was also Qesta's son. Sanders and the currator talk about their worlds until Sanders mentions that he broke through the ice to get there. The Currator then informs that this could mean danger!!! As they have broken the magical seal that protected Vostok for all these years, and that Qesta might be outraged to find out that the only thing he could save is now going to be destroyed! Sanders then informs the currator that he doesn't want to destroy the city, but in fact save it. But at the surface, the rest of the crew has discovered something terrible. QESTA HAS AWAKEN! HOLY SHIT!

Yea, I'm falling asleep, so this will go in the almost finished profile. but you get the gist of it. Potential second part might feature more indiana jones-esque style scenes. Sanders will go crazy and will try and threaten to destroy the city if he cannot take it over and rule it for himself. His crew then takes over and tries to find relics from easter islands and Atlantis which have both risen to their former states and are totally fucking up the worlds and are only accessible by a portal in Vostok built after the death of the culture by the currator.

Three Children(first instalment)

This is going to be a short story from the 3rd person view that I'm pretty much gonna make up along the way. If you're not interested in reading a shit load of plot, then stop here. i might add a bit more flare to this someday but I'm not one to do rewrites until someone has critiqued it, since I'm terrible at critiquing my writing. So this is going to be a crime/drama/Action story. I'm hoping it comes off as realistic, but if it doesn't then that's fine aswell.

Theo Pecking is a 12 year old male, he lives on a farm outside of Salina Kansas with his older brother and father. His mother abandoned the family half a year after Theo's birth with no reasons. Because of this Theo has realized that he must take care of his family, he was too young to feel the effects if not having a mom. As for his older brother and father, they took the mother's abandonment as a reason to stop pursueing a proper family life on a wheat farm. Theo's brother is Kael Pecking. Kael is a 15 year old strong headed youngman. He dropped out of school due to fights and bullying and decided to follow in his dads footsteps as an operator for a farmer. Kael is tough skinned and ill mannered. Unlike his brother, he's a total idiot. He believes that his life is set in stone in this profession, but with the help of a fake I.D Kael has managed to enjoy in a bit of the adult fun, though not to the level of his father. Barret Pecking married knocked his future wife up when he was 16. He loved her and she loved him. They lived happily on Barret's acreage with his parents until he managed to get the farming gig with a commercial farmer. Barret soon became a 7am-7pm man and his wife possibly started cheating on him. He started to grow suspicious when he would go into town and find her at the bars when he would pick up beer for his weekends off. He grew suspicious, but he would never confront these suspicions with her because he believed she was loyal. He drank during his weekends without his wife, then eventually he met up with biker gangs that travelled through Salina and would stop at the hotel bar he frequently drank in. He became good friends with the bikers after a couple years, but he also became a good friend of Heroine. The town is rather small(40,000 people) so the heroine addicts could be counted in the double digits. Unfortunately for him he lost his gig at the commercial farming due to several absences so Barret decided to take out a loan and buy his own land. This was after the birth of his second son and after his wife left him. At this point he became heavily involved in the drug trade, to the extent where he was growing some in his own crops for the bikers. His kids were oblivious to the grow ops, but they knew he was a cronic heroine user. Both Theo and Kael looked down upin his father for this, but he managed to maintain the farm with ease. This was only due to the help of the bikers. They supported the place, helped out when ever necessary, and payed Barret for the grow ops. Barret eventually started using his barn for a Meth lab, although he never started using the drug himself. but the local police started to take notice of the farm, Barret had plenty of protection at the farm with several of the biker gang's lawyers sticking up for him against prior warrants. Barret's trick was that he maintained the farm to such a degree that only his family and the bikers knew he was a user. but after awhile he started driving while impaired.

This brings us to the day and age we are presented in, the setting that this story begins in. 2008 Salina Kansas. Basically, Theo is going to school and trying to have a normal childhood, Kael is trying to carry out the farming duties, but is slowly becoming an alcoholic, and Barret is operating a meth lab in the garage and is starting to drink and drive constantly. We begin in winter, Theo is getting out of school for Christmas vacation, he waits in front of his school for Barret to pick him up in the truck. After an hour and a half of waiting in an extremely rare snow storm Theo goes into the school to wait where he meets his neighbour Jory. Jory is a very mysterious girl, she was born into a very privileged lifestyle but she always wanted to explore the wild side more, so she got into extreme sports like kayaking and mountain climbing when she was young. She lives half a mile away from Theo so he asks her for a ride. Theo doesn't seem to be the smoothest with the ladies, must be his constant nervous mannerism's or his perfectionism. Jory tells him she's still waiting for her parents to arrive. They wait outside the school and by chance Barret has arrived, drunk out of his mind. Theo says goodbye to Jory but Jory asks if she can come with, since they could just drop her off on the way. Theo asks his father and he agrees to do it. Jory calls her parents, and of course they are reluctant to let her ride home with a known drunk, but she persists and eventually it happens. While on the road Jory and Theo get to know each other a bit more. Kael is in the vehicle too and he seems a bit drunk aswell, but he can't keep his eyes off Jory, she's a perfect specimen, even if she's only 12. Barret is crossing the lines on the road and swerving past traffic and doing some intense swerving. Unfortunately the police pull him over. Theo is angry at his father for being an idiot, Kael still can't keep his eyes off Jory, and Jory is extremely curious of the situation.

On this note, i need to fall asleep. so hella huge cliffhanger here. but I think this might turn into a long ass short story since I haven't even gotten to the inciting incident yet. I'll focus in this and a possible webisode in the future.

November/December

I've discovered the Canadian dictionary for Firefox. So i might use it a bit more in future posts. I've been severely lacking for the last couple months. I blame this on writers block and lazyness. Working road construction really wore me to the bone and exhausted the hell out of me. Oddly enough I've started to grow as an actor. I'm currently involved in a makeup project and I think I'm doing a decent job on it. I'm really feeling the actor world, it's easy to find acting gigs for free. And I'm learning so I wouldn't accept any money at this point. But in the future I'd love to focus on both writing and acting on my own work and only my own work. I'd love to try out directing but I don't know enough about the technical stuff to get it right, so for now those 2 will be my passion. As for life, I'm currently living on EI(800$ every two weeks, better then working, until April). I'm going to be focusing on writing and acting as much as possible up until april-ish. Then I'll look for serious work in some sort of labor job, or even in a restaurant. I don't think I can do this lazy lifestyle for too long, but here's preying that I get some sort of writing gig/acting gig and get into that industry!

So anyways, I've decided to really crack down on my writing for the next couple months. This might be really bold, but I'm going to finish the second half of this action thriller I've been working on since june in a coffee shop over the weekend. Won't leave until all 25 pages are done. Then next month I'm going to focus on two mutherfucking scripts! Yea, bold eh? 3 scripts done in 2 months? I better do it, or else I'll just prove that I'm a lazy sack of shit with no ambition to enter this industry. The first script I've already started(10 pages in, comedy high school drama). The other is a horror script that I still need to beat out and focus on. I really love the idea but i need to know how to pull it off elegantly, being that it might be my easiest script to sell. Lucky for me I'm taking a day long bus trip for Christmas. so that should give me a shit load of time to focus on both scripts and crack down on them. I asked for as many transfers as possible so I could charge my laptop as much as possible. I think I can pull off 15 pages for each script during this trip. Then I'll be staying with my dad from the 18th-5th of January. So i should be able to concentrate and crack down while I'm there. It's easy to concentrate when i stay at my dads house. I don't have to worry about my mom yelling for me from the living room because something interesting is happening on the TV, or the desperate need to build the rest of the house I'm living in(Yea, it's a project house with all sorts of crazy shit going on inside of it.) I think it's the fact that I don't need to cook for myself, clean up anything besides my stuff, and it's a relaxing and quiet place.

Anyways, I came on here today to write a short story about a potential script i wanted to start. but I'm thinking it over and it would probably be a good 5-6 pages. I'd write these scripts as novels but i hate the way dialogue flows in novels. It takes me out of my element when I have to write She Said, in clever ways to avoid repetition 3000 times.... I also need some coverage so I can properly rewrite some of the scripts that I wrote away from school. I never did like Broken Home due to it's hostage situation stylings. i think the hostage film has been done to death.

New Script ideas.

I have a couple new script ideas that I'm thinking of beating out a bit. I've decided to pursue low budget ideas before I move onto my bigger ideas(The space drifter, my pirate story, Land of the living skies, etc etc...) I'm still working on 3 scripts and I'm thinking of abandoning 2 of them because I'm just not getting them all down to a science. But Walker seems to have potential.

So anyways. I have 4 script ideas that I want to pursue. Here is some quick log lines of them.
-4 hunters find an american human testing facility in the desolate woods of northern b.c. and beocome experiments for the scientists that inhabit the place.
-A new kid at a clique high school hangs out with the supposed coolest kid in the school.(I wanna act in this, it's more of a drama then a comedy but I have some brave ideas set out for it.)
-A struggling couple goes on a road trip to try and fix their relationship. Unfortunatly the car they bring and the friend of the males test them more then they test each other.
-3 young kids witness a police officer brutally beat up their drunken father, and in an act of defense the oldest one kills the police officer, what follows is years of running from police, officials and the police officers son. While doing so they turn to crime to survive and slowly start to drift apart as they venture across the country.(I got this idea when i seen 3 kids standing in a mcdonalds, they stood in the store looking like orphans for 20 minutes and they didn't order anything or move or talk. They looked like they were gonna rob the place.)

I'm definetly going to tackle the Human testing facility script(Camp Josef) though. After i move to Vancouver i shall put deadlines on Walker and Camp Josef. I also think the 3 young kids on the run script has potential now that I think of it. I love action scripts, especially when they're low budget.
