Homeless Extermination

Hear me out now. i got this great idea for a film while being fake interviewed today. I expressed my view on the homeless and I think this would be a great premise for a film.

It would take place in the future obviously, crime has been practically removed but homeless rate is still high so a mayor of a "World city(newyorkcity)" decides to create a program to force the homeless into a work force. They would get a job doing slave labour practicly, they would be fed and housed. But the propoghanda news would exploit this to show that the homeless are actually being taken care of. The story would take place from 3 perspectives. A homeless man who gets picked up off the street and forced in. A protester who we would follow the most, and the mayor of this operation. We would open on the mayor and try and sympathise with him because he has been recieving such harsh criticism because of his dealings with the homeless problem. He would then create this program to create special work facilities for them so they could work and get food and shelter. They would make videos to show that the homeless would be happy. We would then switch to the homeless man visiting his son who would eventually become the protester. The homeless man gets ridiculed for being homeless by his son. But after his father gets brought into the system the son quickly figures out that his father is actually being facilitated in a disgusting disease filled dump, being fed diseased filled food, and treated like shit.

He will then find the protesters and join them. Meanwhile a friend of his will be video taping the incidents in the prison secretivly as a homeless person. But he will send out the videos shortly before he falls ill and they end up killing him. The mans father see's this and tries to revolt and gathers an escapaed to escape. But the other homeless people are happy and are working hard for there share of food and housing. They see the possibility of this job going somewhere beyond these conditions. But the old man sees this job as slave labor and nothing more. He plans to escape just as his son is about to stage war against the operation and find out where all the homeless are being held.

The mayor finds out about this protest earlier on and deals with it by shutting them out as being a second world industrialist, or a socialist party protesting about how they should be paid the same amount.(boo the world shouldn't be equal, the majority disagree with these protesters then!)The mayor then has to deal with this mob of protesters the only way he can. Which is killing them. Well he doest succeed with all of them! And well, the father gets caught shortly after the son finds him, and the father gets killed, and the son tries to save him but dies aswell with that. But the video filmed earlier gets mass broadcasting and shows all the evil about the mayors deeds and he gets jousted out of there. Resolutions is... Homeless get rights to what they want. ionno, I'd like to see you all do better while under the influence of alcohol and lack of sleep!

Tv Pilot

The show is about a guy who gets hired to work in a entertainment store(it has a video game section, a trading card section, a comic book section, and a movie section.) Here are my general characters.
Jeremy(main character)-He is a 22 year old virgin who has been addicted to video games all of his life. He gets hired for his expertise but he gets placed in the Trading card section with Mikeal. Despite being a pathetic excuse for life he is a charming and positive young man and this job could possibly open up a social doorway that he has yet to explore.
Mikeal-He is the tradition Magic player. 30 years young, still living with his parents, plays every trading card game imaginable, wears the same disgusting clothes everyday and has a stylish neckbeard. He is very defensive against anyone who pretends to know shit about the trading card industry and he constantly contradicts himself with his slander.
Berard-He supervises the comic book section. He is the guru for help, he knows everything about everything, but all he does is read comic books and smoke pot.
Jessica-She is the misplaced cinephile. Despite being an 11/10 she still hangs around all these virgin fags but never gives them a chance. She can be manipulative, but she has her reasons.
Bryan-He operates the games department. He has the biggest drive to succeed beyond the industry but he has such a love for games that he cant let go of the life. He also has a major anger issues and tends to rage over the stupidest shit. He has the major hots for Jessica but we all know that it will never work out.
Bob/Sherry-The owners, they are happily married cliche nerds. The type of married couple that you see playing WoW together. They operate the store with a relaxing motive and they tend to set up major events in the store. They are also big cos players.
Perry-He got fired from the store because Mikeal didn't get along with him and Perry did some unmentionable stuff in a backroom with his left hand. He works at a different game store that some of the workers must go to if they need to find a certain item. But Perry will always reject them, Perry is also a petty virgin and his anger towards everyone at his former store is all because he is secretly lonely.
Secondary characters
Xhunhi-He runs the Anime portion of the comic book section. He has slick blonde hair and a disgusting acne problem. He isn't very talkative unless you bring up anime. He is quite brilliant when it comes to asian culture despite.
The Rat-all though his name is never mentioned he is constantly hanging around the trading card section. He never buys anything, but Mikeal enjoys chatting with him. He is hideous and no one thinks he has a job. He never really does anything but he is always an annoyance for the rest of the store.
Mac-He is the big black security guard. He loves palying Grand theft auto and plays it more then he watches the store. He is constantly breaking up nerd rage and he is a great idol for the rest of the store as he is actually quite socialably normal. Although he tends to redicule the rest of the staff for being pathetic.
The Gamer kid-He is a re accuring character who always comes to the game section and plays the demos. He has never bought anything and sometimes he will stay there for 3 hours. Bryan is always trying to beat him in gamesbut this 10 year old kid is jsut way to damn good. Bryan see's a bit of himself in the kid but sometimes he likes to harass him.
Claudia-She is a close friend of Jessica's and she is also fairly atractive. she is always visitng the store just to hang out. Mostly with Bernard since they're cousins. Mikeal actually tries to form a relationship with her but Mikeal is just too sloppy.

This is my new pilot idea. I'm a lot more happier with this one then my other which turned way to dark. I'm going for the Community feal. The nerd comedy essentially.

Idea

I was thinking of theme over the last couple days and how you could make a story out of brainstorming controversal themes in the common world.

I was thinking of a story about a high school run by a dumbass principle. The school focuses all of its attention to sports and after funding a massive high school stadium one kid acts out and tries to promote equality through out the school system and bring attention to the problems the school has.

I'm not sure of the rest of the story, but from what I wrote it has a debatable theme. Socialism. The goal is to promote equality through out the school system. Equal benefits and funding for every program. The princple obviously against that idea. Our main character for it. Also that ever disputed issue of who's better, athletes or intellectuals. The problems of the high school would be further explored. Things like bullying, racism, under age sex, and ageism. Kids can still make a difference.

And yea, jsut though I should write that down somewhere.

Writing 3 features at once.

Wow... I'm currently at the busiest I have ever been writing wise yet it doesn't seem to feel like much.

I'm writing 3 features right now. All of which are first drafts. Here is a logline and the genre of all 3 of them.

Revolt(drama)-A young man starts doing graffiti after his fathers company runs out of business due to the big box stores moving in. He is guided by a former graffiti writer who tried to take them on years prior but gave up in the process.

Grand junction(comedy/drama) a 26 year old man goes through a divorce and looses his job days apart and decides to move back to his hometown to get his shit together but an old high school crush begins to rekindle. But once his ex wife starts to have feelings for him again he must decide between the girl of his dream or the whore that divorced him.

The Getaway Driver(thriller/action)in 1972 texas a getawat driver ditches a psychotic killer during a failed robbery and heads to mexico. But he is then perservered by the psychotic killer a dedicated police officer who is looking for the killer and a bounty hunter hired to find the money stolen from the bank.

Right now i'm fancying The Getaway driver because it can have such a great potential ending and the first 10 pages is so compact yet exciting(in my opinion). Revolt i started today and got up to page 7, I managed to do a beat sheet but I have the ending down and i think I'm going to just go with the flow of things since that worked well for the other two features. Grand junction is currently in hiatus because of my concetration on the other two. It sits at 19 pages.

I'll be blasting out the first 24 pages of Revolt over the next couple of days. That makes 3 pages a day. I hope to get up to the inciting incident by the end of tommorow. Now if this isn't a passion for writing then I don;t know what is..

4a.m posting

It's 4a/m and I thought I ought to reflect for a moment and express my weekend in a nutshell.
-Friday, I missed workshops because my alarm clock didnt work and I managed to sleep tell 3 p.m. I would then go on to do nothing else for the rest of the day. I truely am one lazy basterd lately. I also watched dazed and confused and Waiting... and got some ideas for my two side features i'm currently writing.
-saturday(aka yesterday, but since im still awake i count it as one full day.)-Woke up at 2ish. Went and checked out my soon to be new room out near renfrew(its cheap and has everything, plus its out of downtown and the money i say on the rent goes to a skytrain pass so i could finally start doing more freights. Its also in a busy commercial big box area so shopping is easy and the station is litterally a block away. )After that I took a stupidly long skytrain home, for a normally 15 minute ride it took an hour. What a fucking joke. Anyways i got home, did nothing of notable excitment for the last 10 hours.
sunday-I plan to get as much work done as possible. I have the wedding crashers thing. The beat sheat for sitcom. The desk jokes, and I will write up about the star wars scripts. I'm getting all this shit out of the way so i can finally focus on my newest feature which is a 1972 action period piece which i'm growing quite fond of.

Hopefully next week is more eventful then this one..

Best Dream Ever

So i just woke up from one of the best most epicest dream's i think I've ever had. It was like a movie was going on and it never really had an explanation. Here is how it went.

-I'm chilling in my apartment when I hear a giant bomb go off. I go to see what it is and i find that downtown vancouver is getting bombed. Its raining, its stormy out and I'm confused as fuck. So i question someone and they tell me that its some kind of zombie apoloplyse. I get confused and then the zombies come in, they're normal looking people but all they wanna do is inflict paint to others. I try running until I see that all the major avenues are blocked off by massive army barricades. They say they are going to destroy the entire downtown to stop the infected. I'm still trying to make sense of all of this so i call up some random guy who I guess is my uncle and he tells me to go to the airport so we can fly out of the city into the mountains. Well somehow I escape the city to watch it get bombed. I get to the airport to see it is in massive panic. But my uncle has a bi-plane which we begin to take off with but a boeing 747 seems to be flying out of control. It ends flying right into our path, we lift off in time to avoid it and we watch as the plane crashes into 2 other planes docked at the airport and they explode. We fly over the downtown as we watch the city get annihlated. For some reason I have the typical family living in north van and i sympathize for them as we fly over north van into the mountains. I finally get an explanation for this. What apparently happened is some weird chemical ended up in nearly every de-salinization plant in the country. De salization is what makes tap water drinkable. And the chemical manages to turn off all primal instincts in the brain and kill them. All of them except for the primal instincts of madness. It doesn;t make sense but I guess this is a dream soo whatever. These people only have one characteristic about there appearance that defines them as infected. It's there eyes and if they are running towards you in rage then kill them.

Well this uncle of mine has the genious idea to fly to edmonton to chill at a pop factory, in his mind the de-salinizartion process is crossed out by the carbonated water. And this proves to make no sense but it ends up being true. We fly over cities as thye burn. I keep sympathizing for my fake family. Thinknig they are all dead by now. We get to edmonton its a ghost town. we end up in a pop factory. Another person inhabits it and says its true. He lived there for the last week. We live there for a week or two before the old man ventures off to find more food.. He doesnt come back. We go out looking for him. We find a river with him floating in it. We get raided by 20-30 rage victims and kill them all with an assualt rifle and a paddle.

We get the idea that we cant stay here alone like this. We need to find someplace to go to stay safe. Uncle gets the idea to go back to vancouver to see if the army handled everything. We get a hold of a radio and we hear they made a camp there in north vancouver which is guarding the non infected. A river supplies water, and they grow there own food. They also host a university which is the main safe haven. So we try to take the plane back but it wont start. So we end up in the parking lot getting chased by rage victims. We end up finding a really nice SUV which is like an army vehicle and we steal it. If the rage victims bite you well they are gonna fucking BITE YOU. And from reports over 50% of the population is infected. 40% died just from these people killing them. It made no sense whatsover. Other countries are jsut as worse. Africa I guess woudln;t recieve anything because thye dont desalinize their water they jsut drink it but I guess the radio tells us something else logical has happened and that the same statistic seems to be across the board. 2 months and no cure for this disease. And water is still not drinkable from the tap so you cant really find an underground lair to hide in unless its a tunnel.

So we on the road once we find something shocking. A bus filled with Rage victims..a rage victim is DRIVING the bus. Well they try and jump us, we kill them with a samurai sword which is oddly place din the back. And you can only kill these fuckers if you fuck up there skull. My uncle is the badass killing them while I drive against this massive bus. I end causuing the bus to wheeve into a gas station blowing it up. We kill baddys.

We end up back in vancouver. It's a ghost town. We find the university is actually a safe haven. And we havent even seen one single rage victim yet, its confusing, we get to the house to find my family hiding in the basement. We go to the university and they tell uis the rage victims are finally dieing from from the disease. It slowly infected them over the month and its finally killed them. But some of them are in the heighest state of RAGEEE. And wellthe university gets raided by them. We watch as thousand more die form these basterds. We kill them visciously using anything. We end up blowing a massive gasoline tank and causing some giant structure to fall on a bunch of them. We get airlifted out. And we manage to watch the city get once again destroyed. We fly over one last sot of the entire city, everything is a fucking mess. The end....

Well actuallly thats only 7.. But I've watched a bunch of honorable mentions. Dirty Dozen, On The Waterfront, Indiana jones and the last crusade, Zombieland, In the heat of the night, I watched Forrest gump again for the first time since i was a kid and it was definetly an awesome flick, Taxi Driver, I watched it again and it was just as awesome, Travis Bickle is probably one of the best characters ever created, The Treasure of sierre madre, The Shining, and something else that i'm clearly forgetting.

I'll be in minor for next month though because of christmas and all.
